Subject: [SDL] exec stack in libsdl update

i posted back in September a patch to remove executable stacks:
http://www.devolution.com/pipermail/sdl/2005-September/070626.html

later in November, a similar patch was merged it seems:
http://www.libsdl.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/SDL12/src/hermes/mmx_main.asm

however, this lacks the additional output format checks that i posted in my
patch ... this isnt a problem if the hermes asm code is only ever used to
produce ELF objects, but if this is not true, then the additional checks in
my original patch will need to be merged

This is the porting of 1.2.0 version of SDL (the latest stable one)
slouken@21
     2
to AmigaOS/68k.
slouken@21
     3
slouken@21
     4
All the bugs known of the past version have been corrected. And I've
slouken@21
     5
added all the new SDL features.
slouken@21
     6
slouken@21
     7
This version of SDL needs Cybergraphx V3 (r69+) or CyberGraphX V4
slouken@21
     8
and AHI v3+. Probably it works also with P96 or CGXAga, but it's
slouken@21
     9
untested.
slouken@21
    10
slouken@21
    11
This version is available as linked library for SAS/C and GCC, only 68k this
slouken@21
    12
time, a powerup (ppcemu compatible) and a morphos version will be ready quite
slouken@21
    13
soon (i hope).
slouken@21
    14
slouken@21
    15
Implemented:
slouken@21
    16
slouken@21
    17
- 8/16/24/32bit video modes, both fullscreen and windowed.
slouken@21
    18
- Hardware surfaces.
slouken@21
    19
- CGX blitting acceleration.
slouken@21
    20
- CGX colorkey blitting acceleration.
slouken@21
    21
- AHI audio (8/16 bit, with any audio format), always uses unit 0 for now.
slouken@21
    22
- Thread support (maybe not 100% compatible with other implementations)
slouken@21
    23
- Semaphores
slouken@21
    24
- Window resizing and backdrop windows (NEW)
slouken@21
    25
- Joystick/Joypad support.
slouken@21
    26
slouken@21
    27
To do:
slouken@21
    28
slouken@21
    29
- CDRom audio playing support
slouken@21
    30
- OpenGL (A guy was working on it but I've lost his tracks :( )
slouken@21
    31
slouken@21
    32
The SAS/C library is distributed with debug info attached, to strip debug info
slouken@21
    33
simply add STRIPDEBUG argument to the linker.
slouken@21
    34
slouken@21
    35
NOTE: SDL includes debug output using kprintf, to disable it add to your
slouken@21
    36
project a function like this:
slouken@21
    37
slouken@21
    38
void kprintf(char *a,...)
slouken@21
    39
{
slouken@21
    40
}
slouken@21
    41
slouken@21
    42
Otherwise you can redirect the debug to a console window with sushi, sashimi or
slouken@21
    43
similar tools (the default output is the internal serial port).
